Steps:

Step 1:   Check network connections:

In Windows XP, it will be under Network Drives.
***If you don't see anything that looks like this, skip to Step 2 below

3.      Check to see if this icon has a little red X on it

4.      If there is, Double-click the icon:

  2. Follow steps for Step 2 below.

Step 2:   Remap the network drive.

Choose your version of windows:

  1.  If a window pops up, showing you a list of different files and folders, try opening ClinicPRO.

  2.  If you get an error message, try restarting the computer and repeat this process.

  3. Try Step 3.

  4. Try Step 4.

Step 3: Check Physical Connections

  1. If an error message still occurs, check the physical connection to each of the computers on the network to make sure they are secure.

  2. Make sure you see a green light on the back of the computer where the network cable plugs into the computer.  Also check the connection to the router (or hub) and make sure a green light exists.

  3. Shut down all the computers.  Unplug the router (or hub), wait 30 seconds, and plug it in again.  Turn on the server computer.  After the server is running, turn on the other computers.

Step 4: (For Windows XP only):

  1. Double-click on My Network Places.

  2. On the left hand side of the screen, under Network Tasks, click on View Network Connections.

  3. Look for an icon named Local Area Connection.
             a) If you see the word Disabled, right-click this icon and choose Enable.
                      -OR-
             b) If you see the words Network Cable Unplugged, make sure the cable is plugged in (see step 3.)

Repeat steps as necessary.  If the error message continues to appear, call a local hardware person and have them check to make sure everything is working and set up properly.
