Steps:
Step 1:
Check network
connections:
1.
Double-click on My
Computer
2.
Look
for an icon that says
'C on Server' (F:)
etc…
In Windows XP, it will
be under Network
Drives.
***If you don't see
anything that looks like
this, skip to Step 2
below
3.
Check
to see if this icon has
a little red X on it
4.
If
there is, Double-click
the icon:
A. If
you do not get an error
message, and you see
files and folders, try
opening ClinicPro now.
If you get an error
message, follow the
instructions for
Sysparam does not exist.
B.
If
you get an error
message:
-
Right-click on
the icon and
select
Disconnect
-
Follow steps for
Step 2
below.
Step 2:
Remap the network
drive.
Choose your version of
windows:
Windows 2000/XP
1.
Right
click on My Computer.
2.
Select Map Network
Drive.
3.
Click
the down arrow next to
Drive. Choose one
of the letters from the
list
(We
recommend F: as a
standard)
4.
Click
the Browse
button.
5.
Click
Entire Network
6.
Click
Microsoft Windows
Network
7.
Click
the icon listed under
Microsoft Windows
Network. This will be
the name of
your network
workgroup [Ex:
WORKGROUP ]
8.
Locate the server
computer on the list and
click it.
9.
Click
the drive letter in
which ClinicPro is
installed on the server
(We
recommend C: )
10.
Click
OK
11.
Click
in the box next to
Reconnect at logon
to put a checkmark in
it.
12.
Click
Finish
-
If a window
pops up, showing
you a list of
different files
and folders, try
opening
ClinicPRO.
-
If you get an
error message,
try restarting
the computer and
repeat this
process.
-
Try Step 3.
-
Try Step 4.
Step 3:
Check Physical
Connections
-
If an error message
still occurs, check
the physical
connection to each
of the computers on
the network to make
sure they are
secure.
-
Make sure you see a
green light on the
back of the computer
where the network
cable plugs into the
computer. Also
check the connection
to the router (or
hub) and make sure a
green light exists.
-
Shut down all the
computers. Unplug
the router (or hub),
wait 30 seconds, and
plug it in again.
Turn on the server
computer. After the
server is running,
turn on the other
computers.
Step 4: (For
Windows XP only):
-
Double-click on
My Network Places.
-
On the left hand
side of the screen,
under Network
Tasks, click on
View Network
Connections.
-
Look for an icon
named Local Area
Connection.
a) If you
see the word
Disabled,
right-click this
icon and choose
Enable.
-OR-
b) If you
see the words
Network Cable
Unplugged, make
sure the cable is
plugged in (see step
3.)
Repeat steps as
necessary. If the error
message continues to
appear, call a local
hardware person and have
them check to make sure
everything is working
and set up properly. |
